Hi and welcome to VinoTripping, where wine tourism is a verb, a word of action.  Will you come VinoTripping with me?

I love new experiences and I love learning. When I was young, my aunt and uncle would share tales of their travels around the world; Japan, China, Europe. I loved sitting and listening to them, imagining my own feet walking those same steps.

As a college graduate, I had loans and a teaching job and could not conceive of how I would possibly travel. An ex-boyfriend called, having just returned from a dream trip backpacking across Europe. I asked how he possibly could have afforded it. Even when we were dating, I had to fund him for any trips we took. He gave me the best advice I have ever received. “You will always have bills and responsibilities. You need to decide what is important to you and just do it. Make it a priority.

After that I started taking on additional positions at the school, started coaching and all of that “extra” money went into an account for travel.

In 1993, I planned my first trip to Europe: Greece and Italy with a friend and then Paris and London on my own. My aunt and uncle said absolutely not (my mom had passed and they were graciously acting as parents). “You travel when  you are older once you retire“. Though I appreciated their advice given out of love, I went any way. And it changed my life forever.

Greece was so incredible, we canceled Italy and went two years later. Life changing…

I have started VinoTripping to share my experiences in hopes of inspiring others and, at the very least, providing resources for others. As I see it, wine goes hand in hand with travel and learning experiences. I have a company for my wine ventures and created a card game to satisfy my passion for teaching. Traveling and writing are next level passion for me!

Travel and culture can continue through all stages in your life, if that is what you desire. Make it a priority and it will happen for you.  Save, find tips and advice, set a time line and make it happen. There is always a way.
